  • Rear suspension buttoned up now I got it welded out.

time to figure out brakes as I am sure my MC, vacuum or not is gonna cut it for the 60 up front and Chevy 3/4 ton brakes out back. Don’t think I gonna add in hydroboost just yet. So what MC should I go with…..

well work finally slowed down enough that I got the shop cleaned up huge and now able to focus on RDEMPTN. First order of business was explorer front dress. Just waiting on a Power Steering pump then it’s all belted up.

            • Now my Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers have come in, and I know where they are to sit outboard of my frame, tucked up in between the Rock Sliders….

I know I will have to notch the frame mounts for such sliders but I also need to incorporate the cage into them which I envision will keep the notched supports from folding up.

now as I await my new LS headers to show up sometime before or after Christmas (hoping the former as I am off for 4 days at the Holidays) I will be cutting off scraps of exhaust tubing to just practice practice practice welding on thin metal.

Well the new headers came and within 90 minutes cut up and mocked up to SBF flanges, now to get an argon bottle where my boilermaker buddy will TIG them out.

sniper install has started. Hoping to fire it up before my birthday in January.

                  • In order to get my base tune written for the sniper, I needed to get a good idea of how far my O2 sensor will be from.

Cleared out everything from under and behind the bronco.

Then cut the sliders off after mocking up where my exhaust needs to run. Time to weld that side back in then route the exhaust with O2 sensor bung as far back as I can and do the same to the drivers side.

I also plan to run skidplates for the mufflers too. Click image for larger version

cut up my old shroud for clearances between the new electric fan and the water pump. No aluminum sheet on hand but I dug out an old caution sign sourced out from my work travels. Gonna take it to work to be welded out.

Went back to SBF headers as getting the Bolts in with the big tubes was next to impossible.

while I waited on those headers to show up I got into the steering.

Ujoint for a 4x4x2 box and custom hardened shaft whipped up by the temp machinist we have at work. Been scratching my head on where to place the ram as the double shear Tube mount is bulky, then I found a guy on FB who mounted his on the bottom of the frame….. that works! I can see notching out the bottom of the cross member to plate up but packaging should work!

                              • Now all I need to do with steering is whip up some brackets for the frame mount of the ram…..

time to get back on the exhaust. Another set of remflex header gaskets or two will be on order plus exhaust wrap to keep the foot well temps down a bit. Passenger side done. Will finally be able to toss out failed ideas soon.
