Are going to paint the inside? Firewall, tranny hump, floors, everything? If so, are you going to use the same paint as you will use on the exterior of the body? Thanks.

If I was going to paint the exterior of the body, I would use the same paint. I’m just going to buy automotive paint and have it tinted to harbor blue, To spray the engine well, under side and inside of the tub. I’m leaving the paint on the body alone. Old and some patina. We will see how it turns out. I’m no body guy by any means.

Ordered and installed the new timing chain to replace the sloppy old OEM timing chain. Replacing most of the seals and gaskets on this Explorer motor. Trying to stop any potential oil leaks.

That is good insurance on a used motor. I may do this on mine too. How many miles are on yours?

Does anyone have the part number and where to buy the threaded adapter to be able to screw on the oil filter after removing the explorer adapter that points the oil filter forward? Thanks

I need some education on this. Does the stock Explorer filter hit something when put in the Bronco? The frame or frame crossmember perhaps? Or do you just prefer the filter to come straight out of the block?

Factory has an oil cooler on it, and it creates clearance issues... Plus you have to run a small filter, even if it cleared the cross frame. Then there are the coolant hoses....

Thanks Doug. Yours looks different than my adapter. I’ll post a pic tomorrow. Mine doesn’t have an oil cooler on it. 99 Mountaineer motor.

Oil level indicator... An option, not on all motors.

No you do not need it, in fact it is a leak point and the replacement from Ford is not cheap.
