Really nice work, love the color can't wait to see more.
76, DuPont midori sour green, explorer 5.0, Mild built C4, D20, 1 ton steering, 44 w/soft locker 4:11, 9" w/locker, 4.5" lift, 1" NHL Bodylift, Duff front long arm's,4.5 WH front and rear, 35 toyo's, FloFit seats and other dodad's.
Your LUBr is looking great Doug. Is that a stock Bronco color? It looks really nice in the sunlight. I have a question for you regarding your one inch body lift. Was that necessary in order to get the 4r70w to fit? Or did you use the body lift in order to fit a larger tire?
It has been reported on Classic that you do not need a 1" body lift to fit a 4R70W, however it is recommended. And I have done two conversions with a 1" lift. Biggest issue with that is the Shroud re-positioning.
Yes Grabber green is a factory color for 1971, code Z
Baseball has been big here, in the play-offs in Little League. Dr Bill's rig has been dragging along, wood splitter repairs, Scouts, End of school, etc.
More parts installed on the 71, mostly small bits in the doors. And finding the rubber bumper that the rear flip up license plate holder rests against. No Vendors carry it. But I found it at Ace Hardware
The Seats I won at the Round up were delayed again, so I just told WH's to send me Black ones. Apparently, my 71 had a bench seat, so I had to drill some holes and make a few seat/floor re-enforcing mounts. I got one installed, moved it 2 inches back from stock location.
69, 7" lift,D-44 with air locker, 9" 35 spl full floater with a locker, 4-wheel disc, custom paint, one off custom mods, Hanson bumpers and side protection, 35's on Champion beadlocks.
Hey Doug this is looking good!
I have a question for you - you mentioned making floor reinforcing mounts for your seats. I heard a horror story over the weekend about a hot rod in an accident, where seats had come loose from insufficient mounting points. I am curious what your reinforcing looks like. My overkill ways of thinking have consumed my thoughts as of late. You're pretty good at this stuff so I'm very curious to know what you did.
The Factory stuff is pretty... limited. Most of them consist of a block of material with a thread hole that is spot welded to the body.
I take that concept a little farther, I use 1" x 1/4" bar stock, which fits in the same re-enforcing channel that is there for the seats. Typically, it is 3" long... with threaded holes. I can use the existing seat hole to hold this in place by putting a bolt in it. It get trickier when the seat mount is in the cross body re-enforcing channel. In my projects so far, someone has already drilled holes. I usually expand one, so that I can fish the same 1" x 1/4" bar stock into position with a threaded hole in it. It is a lot of work, but when it is done it is better than stock. I will try and get some pictures posted to demonstrate the concept.

Thanks Doug,
I like your idea for reinforcing the seat mounts and its not far from what I'd envisioned. I really like those procar classic seats and I see a pair of them in my future. When that happens I'm going to attack the floor reinforcement project as well.
