Patrick I haven't decided yet... My 15 1/2 year old has not expressed interest in driving a Bronco

My original plan was to put it back together using all the parts I have collected from my 75, 77, and 68 and then sell it. It will be built very similar to the 68, except this one will get painted.

When I finish, I might sell the 68 Lubr... It took me 3 years to do the 68, so I think I have time to make that decision

So there has been forward movement, mostly...

I bit the bullet and powdercoated the frame, hesitant about doing it, but it came out nice.

The rear end has been gone through, 4:11 with a rebuilt trac-loc, fresh brakes and lines. (Crap in the original metal lines that I could not unplug ), Got the last turn on the drums.
Deaver used 3.5" springs on, Fuel system mostly done, EVAP line run up front.
Started to clean up the motor and broke some bolts... And then drill bits. Going to pull the heads now. Then there was the open factory hub, rusted and muddied together

The front end is ready to be painted and re-assembled and then it will be a roller again.

Love the clean look of the powdercoating Doug. Did you get those stuck bolts out? As usual, your work is amazingly clean and meticulous...

I screwed with them for a while and finally took the heads to the machinist, who got them out.

I ended up doing a valve job, and having them surfaced. Not what I wanted to do with such a low mileage motor...
The motor is almost done, need to drop the oil pan and give the lower side a once over. Then change the oil pump.

Re: 71 Lubr - Missing parts Build

Well this project has had its ups and downs...

                  The Good:
I got the D44 installed, Got a screaming deal on new WH's steering linkage from a guy on Classic who was upgrading. Been cleaning, de-rusting, priming and painting lots of parts/pieces.
I changed out the freeze plugs, not that they needed to be, but I was right there. So it is done.

                  The Bad:
I pulled the pan and found it was pretty clean, but... that the factory oil pump cover plate had two of the four bolts backed out. One was making contact with the oil pan?
So I replaced the pump... and the Meling pump was just a tad taller than the factory, so I had to clearance the pan.
To add insult to injury, I ran a tap in all of the pan bolt holes on the block and in the last hole I snapped off the 1/4-20 tap.
Tried a number of options... Over two days... Ended up buying two dremmel carbide bits and grinding the SOB out. Then I Heli-coiled the hole.

I got the disc brake conversion bolted up... and one of axle splines needed cleaned (a lot!) up with file. It was the side with the booger-ed up factory hub, which I thought I had cleaned it up on the bench.
Then both Chinese brake rotor/hubs were not machined properly, so that I could get the large snap ring in place. A little machining on the Warn hub body and I got it to work.

The motor is assembled enough that maybe during Spring break I can get it, the tranny and T-case back in the frame. Then I can start cleaning up the engine compartment and the body can go back on!

Ahhhh the trials and tribulations of building an EB! LOL. Sometimes they just fight you all the way and sometimes it goes smoothly. Keep up the good work though, she's coming along nicely.

Well I rolled the chassis out side to clean the shop...

I will start on the Engine compartment tomorrow. Travel Baseball has really cut into my free Bronco time on the weekends.
yeah I know, I can never get this time back with my 13 y/o, so that is how it must be.
