Yep, sounds like the welded steering box case held pretty good. Oil tight.

Not only made it out OK, but drove it all the way home to Mountain View (180mi). Thanks again for the save. Searching for a replacement box now. It'll get upgraded to hydro-assist to reduce the stress. I'll post up a couple pictures of your handiwork.Originally posted by daves View Post
