Re: Lever actions-what do you shoot

Just picked up a Marlin 39A .22 cal. Had to order a new firing pin (looks like a common problem due to dry firing). Made in the 50's. Bluing is 95%. Stock needs a sanding and refinished. Marlin seems to have been into the lighter finishes on their stocks. I usually always do the linseed oil finish. I might explore a darker finish on this one.

That would make an interesting lever action, but the pointy bullets would be bad for an inline magazine!

200gn Hornady FTX would take of that, but you'll need some ice hot for that shoulder.

That .22 will be a fun shoot. I' m going on a 26 mile (ugh) backpack trip in 3weeks . The thought of the extra weight of a lever action has my back hurting already. Nice find Henry.

If a person were to post a thing that goes boom for sale on here would that be a problem?

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms... who's bring the chips?
