  • I wasn't planning on it. That is the bracket that comes with the sway bar from Hellwig. The bracket is 5/16" thick.

    • I got my track bar back from the metal fab shop. I then welded on the ends for the heim joint and DOM bushing. I then got my frame mount in place. I put the bar as close to the frame as possible. I did this because the tie rod will make contact with the frame mount on full articulation. This happened with my last setup as well and when the tie rod would touch the frame mount I couldn't turn the steering wheel. This would only happen rarely when I was pointed down hill so most of the Bronco weight was on my front driver's wheel. Anyone else have that problem with the chevy 1 ton tie rod over setup? I trimmed up the mount a little more than what is shown but the 2 still make contact. To prevent that from happening and locking up my steering, I made a solid bump stop out of 1x2 rectangle tubing. I still have the rubber bump stop and moved it back so that will hit first. I may need to raise the rubber bump stop some more if the metal one is hitting a lot.

      • I finally got my rig back on the road. I still need to make the transfer case skid plate, remount the coolant reservoir and mount the sway bar links when it is disconnected. I think I also need to build a new lower mount for the driver side sway bar. I think its going to hit the track bar mount. When I removed the springs to cycle the suspension, I also had the mount removed It drives pretty good, I did move the sway bar links to the stiffest position.

        • Do I see you moved your body mounts inboard? More pics of under the grille please!

          • Here you go. I made the original core support about 10 years ago and reused the mounts that go on the body mount. I have since replaced the 2 welded vertical tubes for a one piece for a cleaner look.
