The end of this story found the oil pressure dropping rapidly on idle and only coming up to 35 lbs. Had the oil changed today and determined the dipstick was not the right one and the engine was running on 4 qts, oil for 1000 miles. Also, the oil filter was from some back region of China. With 6 qts. and a real oil filter I now have a minimum of 60 lbs. and all seems well.
