  • Grilled Swordfish

I've never cooked swordfish before this evening and for a rookie flying by the seat of his pants I had good luck.

I heated the grill to 300, marinated the swordfish steak for about 5 minutes a side in some Yoshida's sauce, some lawry's seasoned salt and a little garlic powder. Cooked the swordfish for about 6-7 minutes a side until it was flaky. It came out very juicy and tender with lots of flavor. I think this may replace salmon as my favorite fish to cook on the grill. The Yoshida's carmelized slightly while grilling - which added a little something to it too.

Yep... trout on the grill can be pretty good too - wrapped in foil, cooked with a little butter and lemon.

I just need to start catching trout again, they've eluded me for a while now. There is something fundamentally wrong with buying trout from a grocery store, I won't do it!

Sounds good, OT, but how does it compare in price? I love grilling atlantic (or alaskan) salmon, but am pissed that it's $9 to $10 a pound lately.

$9.00/lb is what I paid. Expensive but tasty. I need to go fishing...

That's an idea that might have to happen... I need to put some miles on the Bronco.

I wouldn't eat anything that was caught in the delta. I prefer the high elevation lakes that are currently snowed in myself... Galen, do you have any spots in mind that are accessible these days?

There's nothing wrong with the delta water.... 2-3 months the shark bite will be going, now there's some good eating.

I think we need a bigger boat.

I've had stripper but that all I can catch down here. Up north near Sac and Stockton you can catch some mean looking sturgeon.
