  • Rubicon Trail Master Plan Meeting

    This is a chance to give your imput on the tenitive master plan for the Rubicon. March 19 is the meeting day in Placerville CA.

    Here are two versions of the plan. The first (53 megs) is the official plan very detailed and boring. It's hard to read and very long. The second (430KB) is a more reader friendly and condensed version.

    that esp group is a joke.. they set the meeting on March 19 when alot of wheelers will be on their way to Sadona and Moab... Can we petition them to change the date?

      Thanks for the link. Short version is 58 pages...but great information that we should all know and be involved in.

        Yea, I guess I should have mentioned that the long version is 250 pages and the condensed version is 58 pages. My bad.

        These meeting are to give the consulting company, "ESP", input to help them formulate the final draft of the master plan. The next phase in the process, after ESP submits their final version of the "Rubicon Trail Master Plan", belongs to the "Rubicon Oversight Committee" or "ROC" for short. The meetings have already started. Once again, they are in Placerville. The major drawback to these is they are during the middle of the week and it is hard for the public to attend.           58 pages kind of helps drive home exactly what we are up against. There are people very adamant about closing our trails. We either need to get with the program, or our children simply will not be able to enjoy our sport...here in Kalifornia anyway.
