Just thought I would throw this out. I started this build-up a year ago after I bought the rig and said I would wheel it for a year or two . Ya, right I no sooner sold the tires and wheels, both axles and gutted the tub. I had recently bought a tube bender and a welder and thought it was time to try building my rig. I had a pro help with the D60 front install and did the rear 10.25 had them both loaded with ARB's and 4:88's. My brother gave me a set of H2 wheels and tires that are now in use. I modified the front tracbar and bumpstops, built the rear shock mounts and bumpstops. Had to pull the D60 atleast 6 times before I got rid of DW, nothing like alignment and proper caster. I took the front cage and built a family cage off of it that ties to the frame in 4 places. I just finished taking 4" out of each wheel well to give me 48" of room in back for a larger rear seat. It goes to get lined next week and then the cage will get painted and bolt her back together. I am sure I left out something but I need to wrap up this phase of the project. I began this thread on classic and will try to update pics here as well. FM

        Hey Familyman,

Very nice looking rig. Have you taken it out wheeling yet? You don't happen to have any close up pictures of your lower trac bar mount do you? I need some ideas on how to build one for myself. Thanks.

I bought the EB then started into it so "no" I haven't wheeled it yet but soon.
The mount is circlesd in red behind the high steer. It is in double sheer unlike the stock configuration. At the axle end is a Rubicon Express joint and on the frame end a heim joint. It was built by Adam ant and I had to do some slight mods to it. It appears to work well. The problem it creates is that to make it longer it sits where the original bumpstop went so you can see where I relocated the stops (arrow). It wouldn't matter if it didn't block it because the diff center pushes out to the opposite side interfearing with the stop on the opposite side. If you need more pics I could email larger one's to you. FM

Nice work, the cage & wheel tubs look great.
What are you trying to clear with that bend in the trac bar? I need to redo mine and my 60 diff sits in about the same place.

                Family Man,

That's some great fabrication work and I'm impressed to say the least.

Btw, I'd be happy to pick up that dash from Mike C on the snow run this weekend to Uncle Tom's Cabin. I believe he's planning on going and I live in Folsom. No stress or worries either way.

I understand the bend is to keep the trac bar parelell with the drag link . It is probably of minimal help with bump steer but the guy who helped build it set it up that way. This was my first axle swap and with all the DW nightmares I had heard I wanted to do it right so I hired a guy to get the front end in and then we set up the high steer. I have learned alot during this swap and would probably try it myself next time. Did I say next time

Thanks, I still have alot to learn but I enjoy the challenge.
