Some of you may know that My dad and I picked up a 1971 original Stroppe Bronco. My buddy out and Fallon had been holding onto it for a long time and finally decided to sell, needless to say it is a basket case. All the original parts are there I have the original C4 transmission with the adapter that Bill Stroppe made with the Dana 20. Also has the power steering that mounts on the frame that is notched out. Have the original chrome front bumper with the cactus smasher And the rubberized steering wheel. The body and doors are in great shape need to replace the floor pans like normal other than that it is a very solid Bronco. Over the last 50 years and has been painted quite a few different colors but very little rust thank you Nevada
The plans are to restore it back to mostly original but update it with hydroboost brakes and air-conditioning. A small lift for 32 or 33 inch tires. The motor will be a 333 with a boss 302 block aluminum heads and a fast fuel injection. Update the front and rear axle to chrome Molly new gears and lockers With disc brakes. Send off the power steering box to Lee Manufacturing to have him for the rebuild and document what Bill Stroppe used in 1971. The dash will remain mostly stock with the stock switches and the new Bluetooth stock looking radio.
The end result for the bronco will be a street or the light trail use Baja Bronco. My dad and I plan on driving it across the country during the 55th anniversary of ford bronco and the 50th anniversary of Baja Broncos. Also plan on doing a run down the Baja Peninsula sometime in the next few years also.
I have the build thread NORK2BG the narrow edition bronco. So building a Baja Bronco will be a fun and something new for me project. I will update it as I go along to keep a full document history of the restoration. If anyone has input or ideas please let me know always open to other people’s creativity.
