So where should we set up base camp for camping? I was thinking of the granite bowl. Loud music all night and drinks to go around. (no stand up this time, cannot promise that though)

Since that part has an easement. Maybe down by the tree island thing.
But then again That is the main highway.

Im sure Ellis is going to be packed along with the box.

                      Re: Cantina anyone?

Cantina is my "Plan B" at this point for that weekend (but knowing those involved with my "Plan A", chances are decent I'll find my way up to the 'con). Sounds like a fun time but I hate crowds on the trail... this is a good cause though so I'm willing to give it a shot.

                        Re: Cantina anyone?

I have gone a few times and it never really seemed too crowded. The last couple times I camped at the top of the spillway. The right turn vs the left turn down to the kiosk. I agree the tree lake spot is going to be crazy at night.

I think we can only look for a spot once we get up there..

This is true. I am just thinking after a LONG night of sipping and discussing various topics, waking up on top of the spilway would be a headache because the sun would wake you up when it wants.

I guess we can decide when we all get there.

I have a little birthday shindig friday night, so I will hopefully be up early to make it Saturday and get a good spot.

Might be there with the family but Bronco-less. We've gone several times in the past and just walked the trail to the bowl. I've never see a ton of traffic in that first section.
Best raffle out there. I've won something 3 times, including the top prize.

I'm a maybe, with the KOH Reno Stampede the week after and me now in a car I have to prep it.
The guys says it just needs a few final tweeks he wants me to go though then normal race prep, I hope do get that done over the next few weekends.

Oh, any one want to tow a double trailer to Cantina if I go? I want to bring my CJ5, and leave the bronco. She is light and needs to be wheeling here soon. I see my truck still having the Camper on it with me not wanting to take it off just to drive up Ice House.
