  • Prairie City get together

Well, today at Prairie City only three of us showed up for a nice rain free day. There were two other EB's there that didn't know about the list though. We had fun. I got a little muddy, slightly dented a front fender, (hard to tell from all the other dents) and lost a mirror. Carl had an issue with his front end, and I'm sure we will here more about what happened when he gets it torn apart and figures out what actually failed. If these pics actually get attached you will see what kind of photos you get when you leave the camera on the coffee table at home. A great time was had, and we sure wish there could have been more of you there.

    Prarie City get together

Hey Mark, Yesterday was fun. But it would have been better if more bronco's showed, you know the fair weather type wheelers. Hopefully next time I will be able to drive mine as well. Thanks Jim

It was a fun trip....short but better than sitting at home. I will have the front end pulled apart today or tomorrow. Either the locker, gears, or the t-case...

Well...it was the t-case that let go. I have found that J shift tcases don't like twin sticks. They tend to pop out of gear under load. Anyway, mine has done this a few times. Yesterday it did it under extreme load and blew the low gear and intermediate gear up. Tera 3.15's. THese gears has 4 trips on them....Bummer. Well, at least it is my last trip until at least December xmas tree trip. TIme for a 205/203 combo...or just a 5.0 Atlas. I have plenty of time to ponder my decision...anybody want a f'd up set of teras?

Why not give Jack O'brian a call and get the D20 with rockeaters 4:86 to 1. I've been running mine for 2 years and I am very happy with them. Jack will talk your ear off, but I think he puts out a very reliable product. There are certain parts in your tranfer case that he will need in trade, but he will explain all that too you. 916-773-3278 is his number and mine was $2350.00 out the door. I had the extreme output shaft added to mine ($250.00)

Sorry I missed the run, I was on my way when I lost oil pressure at Arco Arena, havn't found the problem yet, when I slowed down to about 25 or 30 pressure goes up, back up to highway speed it goes down to nothing, at idle it stays up. I never heard the rockers rattling, maybe its the sending unit (its the stock gauge).

I have Jack's 4:86 gears in mine, and twin sticks, its been over a year without problems. And yes, Jack will talk both of your ears off, I spent all one Saturday with him installing the gears, I learned more that Saturday then I though possible. I left with new gears and a new friend.

I had that same oil pressure problem once. It was because I lost some power steering fluid out of the pump, and it went right onto the sending unit connection. As soon as I cleaned the connection and crimped it down slightly my problem was solved.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that during lunch today, I have lost power steering fluid allover that side of the engine in the past.

Jack O built a case for a friend of mine. The intermediate shaft after 4 runs slid out, bending the retainer, and thus shedding the gears. We took the case to Jack to look at and he blamed it on heavy footed wheeling with the twin stick in rear low, both things the owner of the case does not do. He is a very careful wheeler. He said that he would give us 150 bucks off the gear set to replace them. We argued...nothing. It a nutshell, Jack O won't get a penny of my money. Anybody that doesn't back thier products shouldn't be in business.

Delta, I'm really surprised, first of all that one of his cases failed, second of all that Jack would not fix or replace for free. I have not had to deal with any warranty issues, but he seamed pretty stand-up to me. Yours is the first bad story I've heard.

It was completely unacceptable for Jack not to back that set of gears...his answer to the breakage was complete BS. OOh well...move on.

As far as another trip...I am done for a while. I have my first baby coming in 5 weeks...I think I might want to stay at home for a while and listen to
I can't wait to see my little son...
