  • Good trails for another snow run

I was thinking that with the new snow coming maybe we can get another snow run in. Since we have been to Iron Mountain Rd and Uncle Toms we should go somewhere else. I have been to Eagle Lakes as well but we only made it to the first lake then turned around. I haven't been to Fordyce Lake in the snow yet and was thinking that the road was alittle steep in some places. Does anyone know of another trail we can hit before the spring melt?

If you feel up to a long drive, you can hit the road out of the town of Washington. That is where some of the Winter Fun runs are held. There was plenty of snow up there but could make for a long day.

Sorry to hear that PC was a lite show up for you guys... I have been down in AZ wheeling around and hopefully will get up to Utah tomarrow.. I have seen it snow and rain out here in the Navajo Nation.. weird weather

Wentworth Springs was a blast do that. The trail and snow were great. We didnt even make it to the trail head before the snow got too deep.

problem with wentworth is that its a trail that cant be done in a simple day.. its also for vehicles that are set up for adverse conditions

Iron Mountain is always a great place to go play! Regardless of location...does anyone have any suggestions on a possible date? Excluding this weekend.

Could also head up the Highway 4 area, lotts of good areas to snow wheel there. Not to mention its less of a drive for me

Just depends on how set up people are and where the snow is. But I could scout out some trails ahead of time.

Here's a link to a 20 meg video on Wentworth from this weekend. Video never does it justice. It looks easy, but it took us about 4 hours to go 3-4 miles. We had an excellent time though

                      Wentworth

We never even got to the cabins, but with more time and gas we could have.

I was there in mid march and probably got about as far as you did. Man was that a blast though. My club is going back this month but I wont be able to go . I had to negotiate with the wife for a double run back to back weekends in June. So no wheeling in April.

Just fyi...It is much worse right now than mid march. I made it to crest of the hill before you drop down into McKinstry lake in Mid March...about 5-6 miles past the cabins, The conditions will change quickly as things warm up and more people push in. Right now the cabins are a reasonable goal.
