  • Moab bronco safari

I had a good time at the Moab bronco safari this year. I met a bunch of new people, and hung out with a bunch of old bronco buddies. I ended up breaking a bunch of stuff, but I was able to fix everything, and wheel all eight days I was their. I also made two climbs that have always denied me. White knuckle and widow maker. Also went on a rescue run when a guy ripped a track bar mount off the frame. Got back to the campground at 1am.
The list of broken things are two broken locking hubs, one wheel hub (happened when the locking hub exploded), broken rear axle (wheel stayed where I landed), down to brakes only on one side of the rear, failed spark control module, and a crushed tailgate. I did however win the carnage award.
The last thing I wanted to mention is that Matt and Angel from Toms Broncos are amazing people. They were always trying to help me while I was fixing my junk. Click image for larger version

            Marc,
I am planning to attend the NWBR event this year - my first "trailer" run in the Bronco. If I decide that I enjoy doing out of state runs with the Bronco, Moab is next on my list for farther from home runs. We should arrange a caravan. I am likely borrowing a trailer for NWBR but I have a line on a trailer to buy in the next few weeks as well.

Moab just looks too cool, and it seems to offer something for everybody.

He doesn’t go for the trophy. He goes to collect battle scars on his buggy. They just finally recognized his hard work!

Next time we will definitely have to hit a trail together.
