  • The Con!!

A small group of us from Vegas went and ran the Con a couple weeks ago, didn't get many pics but it was an awesome weekend.
Happy to report the trail is not as easy as everyone said it was, although Little Sluice is basically filled in so that sucks.

After Cadillac Hill, stopped to take in the view of the Springs below

We ran the trail in one day, about 14 hours on the trail including lunch and breaks. Next time we want to spend a night on the trail then head to Fordyce and spend a couple of days there.

    Re: The Con!!

Great report, thanks! Glad you shot some pics while you were running about too. Not always easy to remember to stop and smell the roses when you're having fun trying to keep the greasy side down!

Looks like the weather really cooperated this time. Did you see snow still in the higher reaches?

      Re: The Con!!

There was some snow towards the end of the trail, and plenty on the peaks around the area.
Highs were in the low 90s when we were there, it was very nice compared to the 115 here in Vegas haha

14 hours on the trail... holy crap. I'd be mentally drained and ready to sleep for 3 days. Don't know how you do that. I'm done after 3 or 4 hours. Great pictures though.

          Re: The Con!!

Next time you will have to spend 1 full day at Buck Island Lake relaxing.
And yes, the trail gets hard after Buck.

Hope to see you next year on the trail.
