    Walking the trail is a very excellent way to spend some time in the mountains. That's why being a "spotter" is so much fun. Not that spotters are needed as much as they used to be, but it's still a noble profession and keeps you out of the rig a lot.
    Oh, and "official trip/trail photographer" is another good excuse... Uh, I mean job that keeps you on your feet.

    In the fast sections you get to say hi to all those that pass you. In the tied-up sections, you get to say hi to all those you pass. Again...
