I noticed that I am not getting full throttle in the carb when I press the gas pedal all the way down. Anyone upgrade to a throttle cabel setup they like? Or has anyone replaced the stock rod connecting the carb to the pedal assembly with an adjustable set up?

Cool. Did you have the 2 brl or 4 brl option?

It is a cut to fit if you want a short, to the point, cable setup. I ran it for years before I decided to cut it to about 9"

            Re: Throttle linkage Options

I replaced the link from the stock throttle linkage bell crank, out to the carburetor with a piece of all thread and two heim joints. I was able to adjust it to match the throw of my throttle venturi and it works like a champ. Cheap too.

Thanks for the posts guys! I think I may just go the all thread with heim joints for now.

I cut mine and added left and right hand threads to it then did the same to a coupling nut so I could adjust it.

                  Re: Throttle linkage Options

What setup do you have now that's not working? Stock would open up all the way if it was adjusted properly or not all floppy.
Well, they were pretty floppy even from the factory, but they would still pull a blade all the way open.

Just curious. I happen to like cables and all-thread options. Just wondering what's wrong currently.

                    Re: Throttle linkage Options

I've got a 4 brl edelcock sitting on top of a 1 inc spacer. The rod that pushes the throttle is bent pretty far out of shape, which is part of the problem(custom adjustment job done years ago). So when working on it the other day I noticed I was'nt getting full throttle when the gas petttel was pushed down. So since the rod is bent anyways I was looking for a better and cleaner set up then I have now.
