  • Any competent automatic transmission rebuilders in the Sacramento area?

Yes, this is for me, and yes, after 27 years I'm over shifting manual transmissions. I have a 4R70W out of a 98 Explorer 5.0 AWD sitting on the floor. I already have a name of someone in the South Bay (thanks again Doug!) but would love to find someone closer to home if possible.

    Thanks!
1970, Exploder 5.0 with P heads, EEC-IV EDIS, lots of wiring.

I know it is a Drive Lars, but Eddy has never disappointed me with his rebuilds...

Karl, I believe he found someone local to him to do the work. D.

http://www.atotransmissions.com in Rancho Cordova is a good builder and they do upgrades as well to keep transmissions alive. They used to specialize in Ford transmissions but also do diesel transmissions now.
