Not to clutter Pat's thread, but I'm also looking at carbs. I have an old Holley TBI unit on my red Bronco that never really worked 100 percent. Now an injector has stopped operating. So instead of throwing money at an old system I was considering one of the self learning efi's. I was willing to spend the $$ but with all the problems I've read about other people having, I started to look at carbs. The Q jet was going to be the next move. So now l'm thinking. The Chevy tbi 350 in my yellow bronco ran great. Why not remove the tbi,Ecm,associated sensors and parts and AFI harness from that engine and install it on my red bronco with a 302? The 302 already has the tbi adapter plate from the Holley tbi unit and an MSD box. I believe all I would need is to have AFI burn a new chip. So, the question. Does this sound like a viable option? Has anyone here have any first (or second) hand experience with a tbi conversion?
