Anyone know a good shifter option? Trying to avoid a floor shifter, would like a column shifter if possible.

AOD should have the same shift pattern as a C6 so an auto column out of an F150/FSB should work.. I might be wrong but I think the 4r70w has the extra shift setting, meaning there is a spot for OD and D in the shifter. Either way, a 78/79 auto column should work nicely

The Ford trans use a 3 speed shifter, D-2-1 and use an electric OD override button (override button on 4R70W, not AOD). What I'm using for mine is a tilt column similar to the Flaming River, but a Chinese knock off from ebay and a LOKAR AOD 4R70W shifter kit. It comes with a new transmission shifter arm, shift rod, and all the rod ends etc. Its like 70 bucks. You may be able to use a stock ford column, but you will need the lokar kit im pretty sure.

That Lokar kit is nice and works great with the stock auto column.
