  • Looking for a Good dash for my 1970

My current project has a pretty good hole "Hacked" into it for a stereo.

Just wondering if someone has something in better shape for sale? Thanks in advance for replies.

Doug, 20+ years ago I foolishly cut a single DIN hole into my dash to install a "modern" stereo that I ultimately rarely used. It died somewhere along the line and I didn't even notice. I wanted to keep the option of audio but mostly I wanted the look and the clock function, so I bought a Retro Sound unit Click image for larger version

ID:	317785 . I made a steel adapter plate and riveted mil-spec nut plates into the dash for it. Came out pretty nice, I think. If something like that is interesting to you I would need only the thinnest of excuses to drop by and pitch in. I have drawers full of said nut plates plus rivets and all required installation tools. A bonus of this setup is ease of removal and subsequent access to packed-in stuff behind the dash.

      Nicely done Lars...

Hey I even recognize some of those tools on the tranny hump that you recommended buying so many years ago for electrical work. Still have them and use them all the time when I do a rewire job.

My dash is a little worse than yours... I have a led on one in OR, if my friends up there or my son will do pick up in the next few weeks...

Hey Doug, I can repair that dash for you if want to use the original dash. I can bring it home with me this Sat, do the repair and then we would just need to get it back to you.

Thanks Patrick, but I picked up something better in OR to start with.
