  • NEED: Factory skid plate: Rear Tank

I just pulled my rear tank after changing my fuel filter for the 3rd time... Yes there is some "mud" in it. The skid plate is rusted, seems it was a catch for dirt/leaves/sand. Anyone have one for a 77, with a plastic tank, that they want to part with? This one wraps around the tank, which straps to it, and it holds it all in place. I am not ready to buy an EFI tank yet... at least a year away.

I might be able to help you out... Somewhere in my pile-o-parts I believe I have what you are looking for. Unless of course there is a difference between a 70 tank and a 77 tank.

Well Tom's Bronco parts has a replacement skid plate for $120.00

1977 rear tank skid is unique for that year... Looks like I will clean it up and maaybeee paint it until EFI next year.

I have a complete 13 gallon factory steel tank with all mounting hardware and a almost new sending unit with a return port added if your intrested. I pulled it out for a 23 gallon when I ditched my AUX tank. $40 near Fresno.

Thanks Highlander, but I am going to be a cheap screw and just put it back together until the EFI conversion. I was surprised on what they wanted locally $$$ to flush out my tank, so I did it myself on the driveway. There was an old pick up sock in the tank that disinigrated... that was the crap floating around. It will hold together for another year... Thanks.
