That's where I went and my purchase is in their safe. I got a 1911 but until I get it home I'll just keep y'all guessing which one I got. Not one I'd even really considered until I held it in my hand this evening.

March is a good month for my finances every year... this is this year's treat.

Its nothing too fancy really. Not a Springfield, not a RIA. They did have a Rock Island sitting next to mine, not quite your spec though (longer barrel). I already have a couple aesthetic changes in mind but even out of the box I'm pretty stoked. I want to hit the range!

This idea was set in motion a couple weeks ago when I went to an indoor range in Elk Grove. They rented only Glocks and I confirmed that I really don't like Glocks that day. Looking at alternatives I decided on the 1911 platform, and J&R happened to have a model in stock today that fit my bill.

I don't remember... you'll just have to go back and check it out! Don't limit yourself to what's under the glass; this is actually the first "in stock" firearm I've bought there, my 22 and 870 were both special order.

Alright guys... its a Sig 1911. I know that's not a 'traditional' 1911 to a purist, but after handling it last night and reading several reviews I decided it was the one for me. Fit and finish is great, it feels "tighter" than many others and the price was right. I've been eying 1911s long enough, it was time to strike.

I can't wait to shoot this thing! Probably going to order a bunch of ammo soon, hoping to get a little range time with it the week after next. NCB range day, anybody?

Alright guys... its a Sig 1911. I know that's not a 'traditional' 1911 to a purist, but after handling it last night and reading several reviews I decided it was the one for me. Fit and finish is great, it feels "tighter" than many others and the price was right. I've been eying 1911s long enough, it was time to strike.
