    Justin,

Have you tried gunbroker.com. It's like ebay for gun/gunstuff. If you find something you want and need to run it through a business let me know.

Good idea, there are two on gun broker. Damn they want $100 more than the one I was eyeing last year.
Guns are like women though you got to handle them before you buy. I'd be worried about recieving something that wasn't up to my standards. Bore and breech inspection will be crucial on a 30 yr old rifle. I'll keep you in mind Dave for sure.

          $1000 damn.

When i was in MT last year, I went gun shopping. I found a scoped 600 in really good condition for $400. I decided to save some bronco bucks and bought a savage .17 instead. I've only seen two other 600's here in CA for sale. One was ridiculously over priced at $650 in Oakdale and one was the right price $450, but was .243 win.

I wonder if I should just save my $$$ and have someone build me a short action, 18" barreled .308 with iron sites. There is just something about old short actions that I love. They aren't as smooth as newer ones, but they were designed to out live us all. Hell I'm shopping for a rifle that is older than I am.

Tell me about it! I jump on and paruse the Model 70 pre-64 30.06s every now and again hopin' to find a steal. What I need is an estate sale from some 'ol guy that kept one under his bed in a well oiled gun case for 50 years like my grandad did!
