Anyone got experience with these? Seriously taking a hard look at the Springfield Service grade "special" for $950 before their supply of garands totally dries up. All original metal parts from factory in 95%+ condition with new production walnut stock. I'd like one to shoot occasionally but mainly just to have. Will be more an investment & safe queen mostly but I won't be afraid to shoot it by any means. If the shit ever hit the fan then it'd be my go to weapon as well. Hell, it kicked the crap outta the Nazis! Shares the same ammo as the model 70 .06 I picked up not long ago as well so makes stock piling easier.

Re: CMP Garands?
original model garands can not handle modern .06 ammo. the chambers are not rated for that kinda pressure. some google digging would have to be done for allowable pressure and which factory loads could be used.
also bear in mind that M1A1s will never be banned because they do not look evil. so for a little bit more, you can get a whole lot more rifle. IMHO the house and senate are not gonna come close to an AWB because its career suicide to pass DiFis new plan.72' in pieces and piles of awesomeness

Re: CMP Garands?
Welcome home justin...almost anyway. There are a number of D politicians ready to sacrafice themselves for OHB. I spent all last week at Shot Show watching the mood of the industry. The story we got was they were still shipping lowers and mags but its the middlemen jacking the prices due to demand.
Aside from that I love my M1A! Buy Springfield ... not the Chinese version.Relativity: Where ever you go, there you are.
