Anybody have a lathe that could turn down some leaf spring bushings for me? Chris

What are you trying to do? A poly bushing turns down like crap and tends to be hard on bits. Derlin is a lot harder but machines great

Backstory, Scout with cj springs. One side of the springs has a 1" dia bushing with 3/8 bolt so I decide to chang to a different bushing with a 1/2" bolt, bigger is better right.
Well i'm finding it's a lot harder to get them down to 1" than I thought. I put one together and put it in a drill and tried several different things that really didnt work that great. So I thought maybe a lathe. Chris

Chuck it up in a drill and use a steel file... You can work I kinda like a wood lathe, it works ok.

I wound up trimming it with a razorblade and finishing it off with a file. I used a deal that I put in the center and it expands. Then I put it in a drill press. Slow going but it works. Chris
