The hum on the freeway is loud and the bias plys flat spot really badly. Takes awhile for them to smooth out. I haven't bothered to get them balanced. I haven't put a ton of miles on my set so I don't think they're even broken in yet. My 37x13.50x17 measure way small, about 35". Heavy too with 17x9 steel wheels. I'm using them with Stauns. If I did it again I'd do recentered hummers or just regular steel Allied beadlocks.

I've been very impressed with all the Pit Bulls. my friend Kevin is sponsored by them and in the 3 years of racing on them I think he only popped one.

Mark, have you seen the mad dogs out there on on the comp racers? They look like a milder version of rocker. The tread patter is very similar and the same depth, just seems to be missing the corner lugs that are on the rocker.

Its been 15 years since i did any physics, what force would I be calculating to tell the actual rotational force requirements based on different diameter and weighted tires? Is it still just a f=ma just with different acceleration due to diameter difference?

Kevin has raced on them all (He gets 32 tires a year!) while I can't tell you what works and what does not, all I can do is watch the amount of flats that come through the pits.
I've been very impressed with all of the pitbull tires.
I've been satisfied with my Irocks but I think my next set would be a rocker.

My Mad Dogs worked great when I ran the 2nd Rubi run. I didn't want a super wide tire, so I went with the Mad Dog over the Rocker. Turns out that with the 9" H1 rim the Rocker would have narrowed up a bit. The tires are super tuff and have great traction. I drove my rig to the trail and the road manners were suprisingly good for an unballanced bias ply on H1 dbl beadlocks. I hear they are making radials now.....
1970 w/89 5.0, np 435/203/205, 456/locker/ARB, 4 wheel disc brakes w/hydroboost, 5.5" lift w/ext.radius arms, 3" bod lift, RS 9000's, tilt column, Hydro assist steering, 39.5" pitbull's on H1's. 4 link rear suspension. Hey brother, can you spare some change, I need parts....

Re: Pit Bull Tires - Wide Arse Rocker or Narrower Mad Dog

Thanks Tony, yeah they are doing 41.5x1350 in 15, 16, 16.5, 17, and 20 Radials very soon. Tried to get a timeline but they didnt want to confirm anything. I'll be using a set of 9" beadlocked rims, maybe that will narrow up the gut of those 39.5x16.50s. The tread section is only 1" wider than my IROKs so there is some width through the middle which shouldnt give me any clearance issues. I think I am going to go the 39.5x16.50 Rocker route. I'll likely have to move my rear shock hoops a little bit as they are in my wheel well and get a tad bit of rubbing right now and cut off the stock mounts.

I have a couple containers of airsoft pellets I'll throw in when I mount them.
