    Coyotes

Well if I lived colser I would offer to come call them and Execute them. Try to shoot them as close to the house as you can. They are very smart and if you pop 2 or 3 they will move on most likley. Or at least be way more afraid of you and the house.

Wow that's quite the ordeal. Glad to hear your dogs are okay. My parents have 5 acres in Idaho sandwiched between a game preserve and a public hunting area (interesting layout I know). Their road is called "Coyote Cove" and its appropriately named. Fortunately they have not had problems but its a little spooky knowing that Coyotes can get so comfortable around people.

Good to hear your dogs are alright. Years ago I use to live in Escalon (near Modesto) I was out in the country and my dog slept on a porch swing by my front door. I was asleep one morning and heard a dog fight on my porch. I ran out and my dog was kicking the sh!t out of two coyotes. They came to my front door for his dog food.

The hutterite colony just outside the city here, pay 100 for a pelt, so usually we dig out quads, sleds, once in a while even the trucks, ( fun to be powersliding around the fields during winter, heat and tunes blasting, chasing the yotes with a bud hanging out the passenger window with his shotgun) to chase them down and "exterminate" them. Lots of the farmers just tell you to go at it with a smile on thier face with the yotes killin cats, dogs, chicken and the odd cow when you ask permission to use thier fields for a little bit of fun.

can't believe they attacked your poor little pug heh. I have a pack that lives somewhere very close to my property. I hear them crying and yelping almost every night, and often see them running around. Thankfully I built a very secure fence for my husky that often prefers to sleep outside, though judging how she treats anything that moves I would feel sorry for the poor coyote that got closet first .

Actually in defense of your animals and self you could shot them without a License. A nice volley of 7.62x39 might persuade them to not come back for a while.

In this case it would be safer to use a 5.56 X 45 mm (.223) round since it is more frangible than a 7.62 X 51mm NATO (my preference over the 39mm SKS/AK).
for sure please get Formerjughead to weigh in on this subject.

LOL!!! Well my only choices are that or 45, 30.06 or 12ga. 12ga would work, but not as much fun firing at a fast rate.

A lot of guy that call Coyotes use a small light colored dog as a decoy let it play around 10 to 15 feet away for you takes the eyes off you
                          and on dinner

Sorry hear about the dogs. I spend most of the spring and summer driveing on back roads so I carry 22-250 just for the stray yote. Smoke them all. Adding to what Brian said thay also use large male dogs to draw in the alfa-males defending their area.

Used to live up your guys way in Toll House and we had problems with them and our dog too.
You can kill them W/O a licence as long as they are an iminant threat. I would call the DFG office and file a report, that way when they do come back and you plug them, the wardens have it on record that there was a earlier incident.

.22 cal spire point CB Cap (.22 short)........sounds about like snapping your fingers. I have a little Ruger Bear Cat revolver that I used to dispatch some Raccoons.
