Thought I'd jump in - joined up recently to do some research and just brought a Bronco home. Always wanted one, figured it was about time.
I have owned a lot of different vehicles, but this is my first experience with serious wrenching on a Ford product. This site has been a lot of help so far, hope I can contribute.
I'm in Manteca, CA. Had hoped to make the last meeting, but just seeing the pictures was inspiring.
See you guys around,
Brian

It is a 73 with 302 and power steering. Body appears to be fairly straight, and the rust situation is controllable. Looks like it sat with water under the floormats for a while - driver and passenger floorboards still support weight but have holes in the bottom of the channels. Other than that , no real problems.
Previous owner put in tilt steering from Tom's and a Hurst 3 speed shifter , other than that it is pretty stock. Already took the shift lever off, gotta do some fab on that, I am 6'4" and need more room - pinches my leg between the shifter and the steering wheel.
Plans are to figure out if anything is seriously wrong and address it first, then get a cheap paint job outside, POR the engine compartment & paint or herculiner the interior.
The main modification is going to be a C4 or NP435, have not decided which, 33" tires and as little lift as I can get away with. I want to end up a rig that will handle the Rubicon but not make me sweat if my son drives it when he turns 16.
