I just ordered a set of BC's Rear quarter protectors.. SO I am looking for something that will mate up the best.... Same bends... I do want it to look good. Brian do you have the BC's rear quarters?? How do they match up? I don't mind a little grinding/flapping...

      Thanks

Updates?? If they could match the BC's panel that would be great..

I was able to get down to Consolidated Metal today, they can make them in 10' lengths out of 3/16" steel and they will match the roll of the BC guards, but there prices are a little high in my opinion. They quoted me $250 for a 10' length rolled. This was having 1-5 pieces made they wouldn't give a quantity price break until around 30 10' lengths (sets.)

I might know another way to get these done a little less going through another shop, but I will have to wait for my friend to return from Alaska, which isn't for another couple weeks. If he can do it we will only have to pay for the steel and his time, he works for a sprayer manufacturer that I am pretty sure has the needed equipment. they will let him make these up off the clock.

After I got home I thought about how to get them cheaper, so I measured what is needed. If you have BC corners guards it only takes ~46" to cover all the way over the door inserts, less to the door opening. The only ones that will need greater than 8' total would be those without the BC corners.
I called them back and they are going to get me a price for 8' lengths, but he said it would only be slightly less since the labor stays the same. They also agreed to a price break at 25 sets and will get back to me with how much can be saved.
I do know PDXbronco on CB had a set made for his and he paid $300, but he also needed almost 6' per side (stretched tub and no BC corners.
If you guys feel this price is fair and want to go with it I can get them made. I will have them make one sample to make sure they fit tight and match the BC corners before having a whole run made.
                  Just let me know.

8' would work for me.. lets see what they can do on price.. I seriously doubt we will get to the 25.. You might think a price break around 5 would be good..

Steve, I'm running BC's guards here too so the shorter length is preferred. Would like to look at the sample (or could take your word) for fit.

They said they would make a pattern from the BC corner that they would use when braking the pieces. So I don't think I will need the quarter panel, if I do I think I saw one sitting in someones garage here in clovis when I was bending some tube the other day we could use. They still have to step brake it, they said the bends are too tight for a roll bender. He showed me some similir pieces that were bent the same way you can see the brake marks on the inside but the outside comes out smooth. They make a bend every 1/4".

I don't think we will hit 25 either, plus I don't really want to be responsible for that many.
How many of you would be willing to get these at or under $250 a set as long as the fit is good?

I'm in when we find the shape that fits right. I'm planning on running BC's Quarter protectors, so I"ll be on the 8' plan.

                            Thanks,

I got a call back, if we do 20+ the 8' piece will be $146, 10' piece will be $175. If we only do five sets the 8' piece will be $179. Sounds a little better.
