  • interior insulation options

Looking at insulating my 66 Mustang. Looking to see what products guys have used. I hear dynamat is overpriced and there are better options. Also read about guys using home depot peel n stick stuff, but I dont want a tar smell when I drive it.

I used Damplifier from Second Skin for my Camaro. Easy to install and no smell. I then put Astro foil (duct insulation) over it and then my carpet.

I used GT mat in my Fairlane. Works just like DynaMat but quite a bit cheaper.

I used Dynamat. I purchased it from Amazon at the time as it was the least expensive. It took two kits to do the floor, tub, doors and tub walls. I also sprayed undercoating. My steed rides very quiet. I have plans to eventually insulate the hard top as well. I do not regret the price as it works great. That being said, I have not heard any other product first hand to see the difference, if any. Brad

I used Dynamat in a few builds. It's good stuff and blocks sound really well. But it's expensive.

The past 2 trucks that I built, I used some peel and stick roof flashing that I got on a roll at home depot. Comes in like 30 foot rolls and it's only 6" wide but it does just as good of a job as the dynamat I think. It's a little more work because it's not as wide but it's worth it for the cost savings.
