  • Recommendation for things to do in Santa cruz

The big day is this Saturday and we are going to santa Cruz for the honeymoon.
We are going to the board walk but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to eat or what to do.

Last time I was there I was unimpressed with the Seabright brewery but remember liking it before. Maybe its hit and miss. Cruising up and down the coast hitting a few beaches is always good. Just be careful when parking in that town - I returned to my Bronco to find a parking ticket on the windshield once. When I parked it, my passenger and I both thought to ourselves "this is way too good to be free" but didn't see any posted signs or meters. After getting the citation and looking harder there were indeed signs posted, just not easily seen from where we parked.

Walk the pier at the north end and get some clam chowder in a bread bowl, then just hang your feet off the pier and enjoy the day.
If you go up to the light house, that's the surf museum and also where they do the O'niel surf comps, you will normally see people working the waves over there.

Redwood Canopy tour ziplines at Mt. Hermon are really fun. If you like good beer, Burger. has good food and about 50 micros on tap. Lots of cool shops in downtown SC and also in Capitola. Really big redwoods on an easy hike at Henry Cowell SP in Felton.

There's a great nude beach a few miles up Hwy 1.

Check out www.chardonnay.com/ for a short wine tasting and appetizer cruise out of Santa Cruz harbor. Downtown Santa Cruz has more homeless people roaming the streets so I tend to stay away from there. In Capitola village, there is Paradise Beach Grille with a patio on the beach side that has great food.

Just went there with the wife for our anniversary a couple weeks ago. Lobster and filet.

Crow's nest at the SC harbor is decent too.

I'm sure she would kill me if we went to a nude beach lol

Guess my bro is having problems making his trip to TTC/my wedding
First his rear wheel studs started braking and now the wind is so bad it's blowing him all over the road.
So if anyone see's a black superduty with a camper and hauling a scout on 54's on its side, pull over and help him out lol

Great mountain biking in the area if you're into that.

I was looking at this place for our "date wknd" in Carmel http://www.refuge.com/ . We were planning on going right after wine tasting.....didn't exactly make it. Apparently you're supposed to spit the wine out when you're "tasting"....
